    Abstract: 近年來因國際化和科技發展趨勢讓科技產品愈做愈小、效率也愈來愈高，產業也受到結構性的轉變，臺灣經濟成長快速，區域間經濟結構轉變，各區域之經濟結構由原本工業轉型為服務業或工商服務業並進的趨勢。各區域間產業活動分佈不均再加上人口外移、城鄉發展不均衡，造成我國長期重北輕南現象。高雄市位居亞太海空交通樞紐，工業基礎雄厚，早期設立加工出口區、十大建設之鋼鐵石化廠等大型重工業投資，以及高雄港之興建，在1979年改制為直轄市，並於2010年12月25日與高雄縣合併改制直轄市。截至2010年底為止，合併改制直轄市後之高雄市
