Abstract:	新渡戸稻造於1899年所著《武士道》，對歐美之理解認識日本以及日本國內均影響極大。歷來對新渡戶或《武士道》之研究甚多，然卻不見《武士道》一書之思想性研究專著，因此本書乃以挖掘《武士道》之思想性側面為目的，以新渡戶執筆該書之精神葛藤為線索，對《武士道》之思想課題之始末與意義進行論證。首先，我們自作品之主客雙方考證其著作動機以及意義得知，該書無論就著者主觀之認識而言或就其客觀之思想史位置而言，均存在東西洋思維思想作用之糾葛。其次，我們考證《武士道》之東西洋所指，其所說東洋乃在地域上雖指日本，但在文化思想上，則 “Bushido: The Soul of Japan” composed by Nitobe Inazô in1899, has crucial influence on Japan and how the western think of Japan.
