    Abstract: 台灣高鐵自2000年動工興建至2007年營運通車,給台灣帶來南北交通運輸極大便利。然經921地震後,由於中南部地區超抽地下水引發地層下陷,導致高鐵橋墩與橋墩之間的差異沉陷日趨惡化,恐危及高鐵結構安全。本研究將探討其原因,主要為高鐵路線經濁水溪至曾文溪流域路段地質結構以砂岩、頁岩為主、抗震力不足,容易液化下陷危及橋柱結構安全。地層下陷除了地震斷層釋出能量之破壞力不可抗拒外,超抽地下水、水土保持不良、土石流衝擊等皆為關鍵因素。荷載沉陷進行監測、管制抽取地下水井、擴大種樹造林面積、規劃土地防護管理、加強橋柱固樁
