    Abstract: 台灣位處於西太平洋樞紐，同時為一典型海島經濟之國家，掌控東亞及東南亞新興市場之重要地理位置，所以海運業一直是國內發展經濟的重要產業。於1970 年代中期以後，隨著國內經濟發展的突飛猛進，也帶動海運事業的蓬勃發展，除此之外，對外貿易貨物運輸主要仰賴海運，尤以貨櫃海運業為代表。因此本研究擬針對貨櫃海運業之市場結構及經營發展進行分析及研究，以提供建議給業者及政府單位作為參考。
