Abstract:	國內經濟及產業環境因區域間的產業活動分布不均，造成了人口大量外移、城鄉差距擴大及資源大多集中在北、中、南三大都會區。政府為了區域整合，希望藉由縣市合併來達到縮短區域間的差距。而因工研院及科學園區均在新竹地區發展已久，並帶動了地方第三級產業的興起。故本研究以新竹地區為分析對象，並用「經濟基礎分析法」探討新竹地區之產業發展、人口與就業，並以計量經濟加以分析人口與就業之相關乘數效果，進而探討新竹地區整體之發展。
