    Abstract: 2012年倫敦奧林匹克運動會，我國網球競賽獲得有史以來最佳成績，為了解奧林匹克運動會網球競賽運動之緣起、取消與恢復過程，及臺灣參與奧林匹克運動會網球運動競賽之歷程、競賽成績。本文乃透過相關文獻之蒐集、整理與訪談參與奧林匹克運動會網球競賽教練與選手之方法加以探討，結果發現網球競賽在1896年第一屆現代奧林匹克運動會時即列為正式競賽運動項目，1924年因無法準確認定職業與業餘網球運動員之身分，而被排除於正式競賽項目之列。1968年墨西哥奧林匹克運動會與1984年洛杉磯奧林匹克運動會時，網球項目列為表演項目。1
