Abstract:	現代都市的發展與管理，以創新建設與地區活絡兩大方向為主；尤其，在既已開發之區域內，以能彰顯地方價值、自明性與創造地區新生命力為主要課題。台灣地狹人稠、受多元移民社會影響，都市發展已呈飽和、且甚具歷史文化特色。然而，對於地區活絡之思維，卻多以實體建設之傳統都市更新為之，遂以發展藝文、引入商業或是推動觀光遊憩…等為現況主要之發展，其結果往往忽略了地方特質的呈現，而形成千篇一律之窘境。地區活絡之核心在於彰顯地方性與連續感、進而激發地區新生命與競爭力。惟，其間相關影響因素複雜、且同時存在有像利益與成本、風險與機會 The direction of development and management for modern urban area has focused on both innovative construction and district reviving.
