Abstract:	海岸環境敏感多變，面對各項發展的需求，海岸開發勢必無法避免，然而過度開發卻會對海岸造成不可逆之衝擊，並間接影響生態體系平衡及破壞地理環境資源。新竹縣西臨台灣海峽，擁有豐富的海岸資源，尤其新豐紅樹林是台灣北部唯一同時擁有水筆仔與海茄苳兩種胎生植物生長的地區，具有豐富的底棲生物及鳥類生態資源，深具保育推廣價值。此外，竹北原生林更是臺灣西部海岸少數具有高度保育價值之原生林區。新竹縣海岸地區面積雖小，生物歧異度卻相當高，為台灣海岸少有之現象。有鑑於此，了解自然生態在海岸環境資源利用與地理空間結構分配上的關係與特 Coastal environment is sensitive and variable.
