    Abstract: 竹北市為新竹縣內發展最快速的地區，早期因鄰近科學園區及高鐵站的設置，導致大量人口遷入。近年來，當地工廠的轉型、大型公共設施落成、大學校區預定地設置、台元生醫園區的規劃等，進一步加速竹北的開發。在此過程中，大量的農地變更為其他使用分區，以供應各方的需求。農地雖非自然中最初即存在之生態系統，其具備提供生物棲息之功能，在水泥叢林中可提供動物生存繁衍之空間，但又以自然環境不同，故在此探討其特性，藉由多年來的變遷，歸納出農地景觀與生態保育之關聯性。農地除提供糧食外，亦能完善保護原棲息地生物，故本研究將基於景觀生態學
